Day 19. On faith

Day 19. 6 Days to go before Christmas.

Tea: Organic The Spice Is Right (Green Tea)

On faith

I grew up in a very religious family. My paternal grandfather was a church minister and my maternal grandmother is a devout Catholic. I was practically raised in churches and around people who practiced, studied, and taught the Christian faith, so it comes naturally for people to think that I’m religious. The thing is I’m not. That doesn’t mean that I’m an atheist either. When I say that I’m not religious, I mean that I don’t subscribe (mostly) to an organized religion’s institutional connotations. That doesn’t mean that I don’t believe in God because I do. I pray and seek solace in God. I believe that the divine lives inside every living being and that it is one’s responsibility to take care of that divinity.

I know that this would raise the brows of some of the people in my Christian circles. But I think the most important thing when talking about one’s faith is to be able to express your own set of beliefs and freely practice them.
